Well I went out and attempted to run but there was nothing in the legs at all so gave up. SOS much so that I came home and did a LFT - thankfully negative.

ITG - I'll ask him when I see him next. He's cycling in north Yorkshire at the moment! Somebody else I know did a session with my son when he was a very nervous cyclist (around age 11). He suggested getting a rear view mirror for the bike. That made a huge amount of difference for him - although I suspect your charges need more basic guidance than that at the moment.

Yesterday, when Nilab tried for the first time, I ended up splayed on the ground (in a mini-skirt ) with the bike and her on top of me. She was shouting "stop, stop" and pedaling backwards. Some basic training is clearly in order but their parents won't be able to help. The last time I did this, Lorenzo was only 5 and that was a lot less weight to land on top of me!
