Day off from running today due to having my asthma review this morning (all good, Doctor is putting me on a proper program to monitor my breathing etc) and I gave blood earlier- so never run after donating. Back to a few miles after work tomorrow night, just wish we had some events to look forward to but here in the North East I don’t think organisers want to take the risk of adding anything just yet.

I also work for the NHS in paediatrics so know it’s tough times at the minute and special thanks to TM who sounds like it’s really hard for you at the minute and I know your anger at traffic/ crowds on corners - these people aren’t immune and must know they’re risking lives but just don’t get the seriousness of the pandemic..... until a loved one becomes ill then they might realise. Thanks to all frontline staff (and ALL key workers) who are making a difference 👏👏👏

Morning all. I've been a bit absent this week, I have 3 days of solid meetings so not much time to lurk here.

After today I have two days of leave which I booked to "use it or lose it". Yesterday work announced they would allow unlimited roll over of leave this year, but I've decided to spoil myself in this miserable January and have a couple of days off. To be fair all I'll be doing is staying at home trying to keep out of the way of dh and ds while they home school/ work (doesn't sound that exciting, really).

Finally got first asymptomatic staff test for covid yesterday - then, for dull reasons, got my second shortly after!

So sad to hear about the death of John Kynaston yesterday. Not fair for such a lovely, humble guy to die so soon. The running community is the poorer for his absence.

Great post, HM. Huge hugs to all our health workers. Everyone is having a shitty time but the front line staff (including receptionists and cleaners) are literally putting their lives on the line.

Hugs too for the berieved whether frommCovid or anything else. It's an awful time to try to organise a funeral and process grief when you cannot be together.

I've not been keeping up but bunting and medal and bin as appropriate. Is CAZ not nearing 700?

Morning all :-)

Good idea TB - I have about 8 days of leave to take before the end of March as that's when my contract ends. It's also the deadline for the thing I've contracted to do, but I'm not going to lose it. Am going to take Friday next week and pretend to go out for lunch with OH.

Lunchtime run beckons, hopefully not too soggy.
