Huge hug Som. But I hope it means we'll 'see' you more often. The thread needs your particular brand of bananas.

I'm going to blog. It will be self indulgent. But I hope it'll let me put the worries aside for a bit and let me work on uni stuff.

Can I ask - I have been for run today so technically done my outside exercise but I have a fully enclosed back garden so could I go out and use my skipping rope, hoopla and back door step for step workout

Thank you all, I'm fine. Got my Sal here and her daughter plus the cats, rabbit, hamster and fish - all keeping me company. Our expenses aren't much anyway. :-)

LG, you can go in your garden as much as you want.

Go for it LG! When I ran round my back garden the other day it was precisely so I could see what it would be like to do exercise out there (and it was OK, even if it would take me 50 laps to do 5k ;-) ) but as long as you're not breaching the 2m rule why shouldn't you?

Oh Som that's awful. I think it's going to be happening everywhere tbh.

Columba I agree. I've never seen so many people getting out for a stroll. Possibly because gyms are closed and more people are at home, but maybe it's a silver lining: People discovering the joy of being out in the fresh air (extra fresh since pollution levels are dropping) and maybe they'll keep it up once the whole sorry mess is over.

Thanks, I know I wouldn't be seen but already felt bad being out for a run even though we can .

In response to Columba, I think people are walking or jogging more because they have a bit more time (not commuting to work or driving kids about) and are looking for a reason to get out, since they can't do their usual drive to the shops and pottering. Also people swapping from gym/pool routines.

LG: pretty sure exercise in one's own garden is as unlimited as doing your yoga in your front room :) I'm just waiting for the snow to clear so that I can nail those double unders once and for all [expect ITG to look like she's had a whipping soon]

I'm running daily when not at work! I've given up on HM training since I can't believe a race in May will happen, so doing short local runs more frequently instead. Definitely helps my mental state. I was exhausted and close to tears on Tuesday after shift. I've had 2 days at home, running, gardening and feel so much better.

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2020 thread, everybody welcome. The thread motto is:
'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

At normal times: All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles. Extra points for bins :-) And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.
