Wowsers for Virginia! That's an awesome performance.

Another boring day of work today: meetings and gradings. Hoping kitty will entertain me.

Morning

LD last night session was 1 min on / 1 off / 2 on / 1 off / 3 on / 1 off x 4. The off you suppose to jog back to last person, but as I am 2nd from last I always walk :)

I am not a big fan of time intervals rather than distance. think it is a case of always looking listening for someone to stay stop rather than focussing on a finishing line.

What an amazing time for Virginia. Marathon distance has never been my distance, so always a huge respect for anyone who can do the distance in such a great time

Interesting to get that perspective FML - as a coach I use time for interval sessions almost entirely. Otherwise mixed ability groups simply don't work!

Hi AL. Our coach mixes it between time and distance sessions. With distance sessions normally do different distance between the slower and quicker group with the same time for turnaround. Like last week I did 200m/300m and 600m reps where the quickers ones did 200m/400m and 800m.

I don't envy any coach trying to organises these sessions and trying to make sure everyone is kept together

I like distance intervals because if you run faster, it's over quicker! :)

I managed to coax my grumpy hamstring through 10k this morning to reach the hallowed ground of 700+. There should be a bin pic to follow assuming I can manage the technology. Apologies if it doesn't work.

Time for a week or so rest methinks to allow for some, hopefully, recovery. I can then try and get myself prepared for an actual event (Run Silverstone half) in mid November assuming that I have not been locked down by then.....

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2020 thread, everybody welcome. The thread motto is:
'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

At normal times: All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles. Extra points for bins :-) And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed, sometimes even running.
