Buy a bra Meadowsboy :)

Horrid run. Cut it very short, but like MB said it's like running on sand and slippery in places even wearing Yaktrax.

Headwind driving snow directly into my eyes not fun either.

Conditions here similar to those described by Um. Huge snow drifts. Went for a short walk to see what the main road was like. Narrowed between drifts, and slushy. Next to no traffic.

Wimps the lot of you.
Snow is back here so I've a 6k snog planned for tomorrow - after a nice long lie.

Ah, but you're used to it, ITG.

This is actually the most snow I've ever seen, in this country at least. And I'm how old...?

Were you living elsewhere perhaps in the 62-63 winter Columba? I can vividly remember going sledging in the Brecon Beacons and seeing snow that was deeper than the AA box at the Storey Arms was tall. Wales had a *lot* of snow - we were off school for what seemed like weeks (probably wasn't, but it was brilliant :-) )

LG - you’ll be fine without a water belt. There will be plenty of water stations.

I’d invest in a pair of Ronhill trail/cargo shorts or capri’s. They have great pockets for gels, jelly babies etc. I actually bought a men’s pair for VLM as had better pockets for me (especially for tissues as my nose usually runs!).

Hoping to run tomorrow. Not run since Tuesday. Combination of work & weather. And probably going into work tomorrow for a while. Got to love the end of financial year combined with colleagues on sick leave. Sigh.

Ronhill trail capris are brilliant, they’re basically one big pocket. I gave 2 pairs, I probably need a few more actually.

Also glum here. Weather too bad to do much, plus I have a sore throat/beginning of a cold. Nothing planned due to cancelled holiday and difficult to make any alternatives.

parkrun probably on, as snow is packed but not actually icy, but think I should avoid running if I’m not well.

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
