Many thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. No running for me this week. I pulled something in my groin last Saturday at parkrun sprinting for the line. You would think I'd know better at my age. The consensus of opinion is that it's a sports hernia. I'm supposed to be running in the D33 Ultra next Saturday. I'll have a gentle run over to Preston Park junior parkrun on Sunday as I'm on marshaling duties there & see how I feel. The annoying thing is that the pain has gone from my groin, but is now in my lower abdomen. I can't remember the last time I had an injury, bloody typical. On the weather front in Hove, we've now got a fine layer of snow over the black ice. I nearly slipped over twice coming back from a walk round Hove Park to check conditions for tomorrows parkrun.

I wish I'd read all the posts about boilers before now (trying to be less timewaster-y in the mornings, so am not looking in as early as I usually do) as we've just had exactly the same problem, ie frozen outlet. Luckily the boiler didn't go bang; unluckily the water dripped through the kitchen ceiling instead. Ah well, I was intending to get the decorator in sometime soon anyway
All parkruns are cancelled locally tomorrow, and today is not the best of days to go running - it's snowing again and is well below freezing - but I'm getting a bit 'antsy'. I think I'll try a little run tomorrow if there's any improvement, but I'm not taking any risks.
Fingers crossed for this weekend's racers

Hope it's quickly gone 12bar!
been for third and final trip to care for chooks - they'd taken themselves into the house so only had to shut it up. Same again tomorrow I expect, unless the lady who usually does weekends can get there.

Impressed with all the runnage. I've had a lovely walk with the dog. Lots of ice and snow drifts around but the main road into the village looked driveable. It's coming down quite heavily again now though. Several farmers have been out clearing drifts - we'd struggle without them!
