Morning all
What a day already at work - very stressful and eventful so far. Need to go out for some fresh air to chill out so banking it is.
Have been in this job 24 year this year - this will pass by with nothing happening same as always.
Enjoy Paris Lindsd, hi Andy and brain frozen now forgot everything else.

I don’t think we have a constitution. Lots of laws, but most of those are ancient or based on ancient ones. The Magna Carta does still get cited.
I’ve been at my practice for 12 years. I’m self employed, should I award myself a gift? Maybe a new bike...

We don't have a written constitution - we have a whole series of mixed statutes and common law practice. Mind you, the current situation in the USA has exposed how little their written constitution actually protects them from someone who has no respect for it...

Been with my current place 12 years so got an extra week holiday. Glad I went for my run first thing as it's pretty crap out there now.

Not sure about the floods. Am hoping to parkrun but OH is still ill.
Bon voyage to LD also and for the racers.

Morning all. Loving the discussion around work rewards for loyalty (or lack thereof) - particularly Meglet's idea of buying yourself a gift if you're self employed. I've been my own boss for 16 years, and I agree a new bike would be a fitting reward....now if there was just some way I could make that tax deductible.....
Happy travels Linds and LD. Good luck all runners and races this weekend!

I had heard the 10 year anniversary gifts triggered more exits than any other event. As in people stop and think 'I've been here 10 years and this is it ...' But I have my share of tie pins, pens - and then into the 'catalogue' gift age. My manager was quite upset when he found I had converted my 25 years 'points' into Sainsburys ££ vouchers. I did also get a snazzy black & gold company logo 25 year pin to attach to my id badge. Which broke as I attached it.

Seeing as we can’t get cycle to work scheme when self employed then we should be able to get a bike tax deductible
