Happy anniversary Bint.
My longest time with one emplyer was with the courts. About 15 years if you count the last two on secondment. Then I left to take a job at the secondment place. I have colleagues still at the court, it's not unusual to stay for 40 years. I'm glad I didn't though! Is it a US company Dave? Odd selection of gifts. The best thing we got for being ere longer was extra holiday, that's better than a popcorn maker

Happy anniversary Bint
thanks for the lovely welcome back everyone. I did run last night, still struggling but even worse last night as I fell yesterday on the ice when out walking Vinnie - skint my knees and put holes in my trousers!

Have been with current employer for 22 years, but we are hanging on by our fingernails at the moment.... Had another turn up for my C25K beginners last night to take the grand total to 4, and another couple of apologies. Hope the knee isn't too bad Star.

I'm afraid I had to skim most of that. Thanks for the travel tips but Manchester is too expensive to fly to (for some reason). Gatwick it will probably be.
What did you pick, Dave? Sounds quite fab! I've been here 15 years, got a PhD, had my 30th and 40th birthdays and been promoted three times. They've given me nowt but stress. Ungrateful fuckers.
My colleague won't be back at work for weeks so I have to take over his class. On Monday. I am meant to teach the UK constitution on Tuesday but I've no readings in my office more recent than 2002! I tried online and came across a looney-tunes group of constitutional reformers who want to try most of Parliament for treason and bring back Magna Carta as the supreme law of the land. They seem to think England and United Kingdom are synonymous. I won't be sending my students to that site but it is worrying that it comes up on the first page of a google search for "British constitution". I expect a few students will cite it.
