ITG - Maybe you could consider wearing flight compression socks, even for short haul?

Good news ITG, & your positive reactions with son/school. Lol, have a parenting I have just entered 3 races for next year as they sell out quickly - chancy, but refusing to listen to the injury chimp on my shoulder. Any advice welcome, I guess quality not quantity training, not my usual method. They’re all 10 milers. |

Daft question: are running compression socks the same as flight socks.

All sounds good and progressive ITG, on all counts. Ymee, nice to hear you're coming through it at last. ferret, are you going in for the Imperial Series? I was looking at that last night but the only one I could manage is the local one and I'm NEVER going to do a race along the prom. Back from a "long" run. My Garmin says I only need 24 hours recovery. |

ITG (and Pompey P) Running socks are generally (I've found) higher compression. They're fine for a 1-2 hours, but I found too tight for my SF commutes (typically 10 -12 hours) - so for that I stuck with the std Boots compression socks sold in the airport terminal. Shorts and knee length black socks is a great look (so I kept telling myself). But try them and see - and of course depends how tight your running ones are. Do need to be full length though. *All the above is based on personal experience and guaranteed free from any medically qualified input* *and keeping flying socks separate from running socks does mean they're not wet, sweaty & smelly at the start of the filght* |

Back from school. To their credit, they were on it already as another mum emailed last night. I had the "post" before I even got to the meeting. They are checking filters (that they thought they had); no unsupervised pc use; more general supervision of boys' groups; opportunity to join new group for school show; and warning to kids the browsing histories would be reviewed by log in. I was able to give a bit more context to yesterday's incident and mentioned there had been a previous case of K being shown porn (a week ago) and that K had been scared to walk out of group because of bullying. He also would not takk to a teacher for fear of being called "snitch" but I hoped he would keep coming to me - and giving me permission to talk to her. We also talked about general environment with a very small group of boys who are quite aggressive but also influential. I would not say a "win" exactly. There are no winners on this one. But I think they are taking it quite seriously. The only thing they are not doing for now is banning phones but I asked them to keep that umder review. |

Well done K and ITG. I'm in for HDS. Have we settled on insects? |

Well done ITG ... 6 miles in NF today - temperature is dropping from the last few days Was surprised post-run at the anatomy of the place names - bottoms, bushes & balls! fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1796703 Mr Fetch's OSM map misses out these delightful names - see the Ordnance Survey, or Bing Maps with OS view binged.it From Sandy Balls (give or take a bit), to Ditchend Bottom, up to Cockley Bushes, missing Ashley Hole, past both Ashley's & Alderhill's Bottoms (deer here today), Then along Latchmore Bottom. Back over Hampton Ridge to Long Bottom and Burnt Balls to the end of Must Thorns Bottom. Back along Ditchend Brook & Bottom, and up the hill back to (near) Sandy Balls I may start giving guided tours. |
