Um, those photos, that’s lovely. I like guided tours, as Alpenrose knows!

Yes, imperial. Won’t be racing it, look forward to surviving/enjoying them. The Larmer one one looks most alarming :-0

My hilly compression socks have been a great improvement on flight socks, no long haul travel swelling at all now. Just need to stretch the toe area, dunno why,odd fit probably, & wear sandals of course 😂 easier flying south.

Wimey - our big kids go to school in Netherthong! (we're next village along, in Meltham).

There's also Upperthong, Thongsbridge and Mark's Bottoms in the vicinity. :-o

Dooooogs - I worked in Kirkburton for a short time; and Huddersfield Infirmary (and St Luke’s for that matter). Loved our time in W Yorkshire 🙂

Aha. My mum was born in St Lukes (closed a few years ago, alas), although she trained and nursed in various Sheffield hospitals, rather than Huddersfield.

Where we live is ace - it's middle of nowhere but if you draw a triangle between Manchester, L***s and Sheffield, it's smack bang in the middle of it. :)

You’re right about middle of nowhere-ish; teeny roads with dry stone walls and nowhere to pull off if you met someone coming the other way - still get nightmares 🤣 Give me teeny Borders roads with lots of verge any day!

About This Thread

Maintained by Mandymoo
Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
