Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'll be walking from Helmsdale to Berriedale today. On the A9. I'll probably see much less traffic than you. :-)

luck to racers, and have fun TBCers.

I’ve decided to rest my Achilles. I’ve been trying to ignore it for a while but have finally accepted that it needs a rest.

Good luck, bridgers, JOGer and all the other runners. Off to stand in the rain to watch Lala playing football - and then hopefully a little run tonight.

Enjoy the races, everyone! It doesn't feel like a Saturday here as I'm going to spend it working at an airport hotel and then an airport. At least I'll save some pennies on the DutyFree boredom shopping!

I'll stop harping on about this soon (maybe) but does anyone have some advice about the medium-term action to take on the credit card fraud? There are lots of things coming up but I've googled and just got advice for immediate actions. For example, I have a future trip booked and paid for with the card that I should show at the airport at checkin; I have to switch various bills to the new card when I get it; apparently, I should check my credit record. There might be other things. Credit card company have been pretty crap, tbh, as I've had no more than an "autoreply" to my email and they wouldn't take any action over the phone.

Also, on a happier note, I conquersized Sandgerði yesterday and took a taxi back - a fresh 9 new zones :) I'm off to reconquer and secure a couple I took in November last year.

Morning! Sorry to hear of ITG's card woes. Can't remember anything else, sorry.

My run yesterday was a bit worrying - my knee is showing no signs of improvement and was really uncomfortable throughout. It's fine when I walk, but painful when I run. With the Gt South only a couple of weeks away I can't really not run at all to see if it gets better with rest and anyway I've really cut back on my mileage in the last couple of weeks. Harrumph.

ITG - I assume the credit card company have stopped the old card?
I assume you'll follow the same steps as if a new card (ie any recurring payments, paypal, amazon, phone, other sites where you may have saved details?).
Check statements for a few months.
Change PIN ? (if Iceland uses chip & PIN)

Any idea where used and scammed / copied? Airport hire car sites used to be bad for it - but also surprised by poor reaction of the card company. Any time I have 'lost' mine (and always lost, never scammed) the compabies have seemed very switched on and very helpful.

Morning all. I finally crossed the 700 mile line today during parkrun.

No photo of the run, but it feels appropriate to share a photo of my latest print - I've been so busy with the art stuff that the running has taken a back seat but I loved parkrun today. Even though I turned up late and started a few minutes after everyone else.

Thanks, Um. A new card might be on its way to my home address or my bank for pick up. Call centre were really crap. I phoned them back yesterday and he still couldn't tell me anything - just that it had been "flagged" :(

I have booked some car rentals recently (online though pick up at airport) so maybe it is one of those :/ It's been a few months though so I would have thought they would have tried sooner. On the other hand, I guess some hacker gang gathers a bunch of data then just flogs it wholesale whenever.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
