Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Very wise Daisy, I see you have your sensible hat on.

RRRRR - Take good care. Might have sprained it, do you think?

Run done. Just over 6 miles in an hour and a half. Set out in a waterproof jacket and it stopped raining and I got far too hot so had to stop and take it off and tie it round my waist.

Ouch RRR hope ankle is ok.

Fabulous running everyone. I haven't got out 🙄 by time mother went (who was on good form) the biblical weather had arrived. Although I love running in the rain, the wind is ferocious here.

Ouch, RRRR, hope it's nothing too serious.

Jacket test done, 10 miles, mainly off-road in the first half but paths I'd never done before and got fed up with them about the point where the path had special little gates with heavy undergrowth between them that turned out to be covering broken planks that used to be a stream crossing. I was not shod for that. Jacket was fine though in the rain during the first half, tshirt was damp afterwards but I think that all came from me :)

Oocha. Hope ankle bit better now RRRR.

Last properly long run done. 20 miles, with a sub 2 hour Great Aberdeen Half to begin with. Very pleased considering how I was feeling a week ago. And weather held off for first 18 miles which was a bonus.

Taper time now :)

It rained here all day and got quite cold too so I kept moving to keep warm. 14 miles minus small change and then a 2 hour wait for the shower. I'm now warm and dry and tucked up in a bed being antisocial because lots of the other guests here are eating and partying in the nearby pub.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
