No help here ITG but Pilates has been wonderful for my back - haven't had any sciatica since starting to go regularly 3 years ago.

Another vote for pilates or yoga for bad backs....and/or an osteopath if you can find a good one ITG. Early doors at the pool this morning in a big thunderstorm, lights went out for a couple of minutes and it was lovely swimming in the gloom, very soothing.

What RRRCaz said re ITG's back problem.
Chooks seem to be getting a bit of a bad press. Apparently they're descended from forest-living ancestors, so their instinct will be to roost in trees. Failing a tree, the hen-house roof may be the nearest they can get. One of our hens (when new to us) persistently rooster in the apple tree. I used to have to climb up it every night, push her out, then climb down, pick her up and put her in the hen house. She got the idea eventually.

hmmm... unfortunately, not a physio but a coach. I think he is ok on biomechanics though. I'm in scotland next week but in the Far North, about 200km from the nearest specialist shops.

Mine were perfectly happy to troop themselves into the coop every night (for the last year or so) to the perches in there until the recent hot weather when the roof of the coop seemed preferable. Now I think they've forgotten that to get inside they have to go underneath the coop and up the ramp. However, I might be wrong as they manage to get to the nest boxes the same way during the day. They were very wet and unhappy last night though. I hope they don't catch cold.

Fingers crossed for chickens not going down with a lurgy after that, & I see a certain logic in not connecting access is the same for bedtime as eggtime.
Dimmed lighting at pool sounds a good as a change. There used to be weekly evening session like that at Marlborough leisure centre, relaxing/romantic, can't remember which.
