Morning Joins Seren in eyebrow raising at LD... RH - love the pics on velociraptor's blog, looks like you had a great time. Hope the journey home is ok. Mrs H - acupuncture. Cured my piriformis-related ITB problem that I'd had for 3 years in 5 minutes.
AR - well done on first run of the year, sounds beautiful Phil - Actually, I'd recommend acupuncture for a calf strain too Sinj and XB and anyone else racing today Apologies, Columba, for cluttering up the thread Actually I didn't realise there was a decluttering thread - though I'm not surprised! I'm going to try to have a running fail fail today *whispers for Columba's benefit* in amongst the ongoing decluttering

Morning from lurgy central! Well I was in bed by 9.45 and up at 9.15 longest I've slept for as long as I remember! I was awake coughing the house down but fell straight back to sleep. Most unheard of.
So needless to say I won't be running but I am going to attempt to clear the spare room to sort my gym area out!
On dog running front I'm hoping when my cousins dog gets to 1 I can start training him to run with me Bailey's old harness should fit him. Just feel guilty not taking Ellie as she loves to run. We are doing the odd mile-mile and a half together.

I found acupuncture very good too Mrs H. If my piriformis gripes I usually do trigger point with a ball (i.e. sit on a lacrosse ball moving it about until it's on a good spot and leavibg for a count of ten then moving again). One I've done that I do glute stretches. The other thing is that the sciatic nerve goes through the piriformis and can get squished and that makes the pain worse. As well as acupuncture the physio gave me a nerve stretch to do to ease this. It may be in the vids TeeBee mentioned. I had to lie on my back, knees at 90 degrees, lift one foot off group and join hands behind knee and slowly straighten leg up, repeat a few times. That helped too.

FML: sounds like you are in for a long, fast run! Hope you enjoyed!
I put in 20k at a slovenly pace as I am also be-colded and be-coughed but it was acceptable. I got chatted up too by a rather nice-looking runner who, after volunteering that he had "never married" and after me volunteering that I married when I was 23, politely inquired if I was "happily married".
I answered yes. I'm boring like that. It's still nice though!
