Ahem. The nettle did not sting me through my clothes. It was a hedge stop. I fell over into the nettle when I realised I was in full sight of the sweep car :-o

Wow, some really impressive gutsy performances. And a fantastic moon show by Carp, by the sounds of it. :-P

I'm sorry if my post earlier made it sound like I was slating the time it took me to run 20 miles. That wasn't my intention at all. You're all awesome, and I never compare myself to others (apart from a couple of runners from parkrun who I'm very similar to in times).

Went to the pub with some parkrun friends tonight, the guy I ran the first 16 miles with, his wife, a runner who's hurt her calf, a mate who's not been well, a mate who ran 2:20 at Ashby and another friend who ran 3:22 at Ashby, she was hoping for 3:45. I only had a couple of pints, was glad for a lift home and fell up the stairs just outside my bedroom. :-)

LOL @ Carp. Sorry you had such a painful day.

Some serious running going on on here today. Well done all the mile monsters. Have some more bunting
Glad you were injury free Phil, that's the most important thing.
And congrats to AL. We all knew you'd be fine :-)

RA - over 500 miles means new shoes or knackered knees. JFDI. You wouldn't want to spoil all that hard work.

Gentle 10 for me. Managed a PB for Bracknell PR and was 1st in my age category yesterday too. Wonders will never cease :-)

Am still painting the sitting room! Nearly there now. Just dining room to do then I don't want to see a paint brush again for a long while. I feel like I'm at about mile 23 of a painiting marathon - grinding it out. ;-)

About This Thread

Maintained by iRan
Welcome to the 700 miles in 2016 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

bunting and 700er medals are often spotted around here.

Happy running :-)
