Happy Christmas all - very impressed at the parkrunners. My exercise has been wrestling the turkey into the oven...

Columba
Day started with the discovery that the hat-and-glove rack had fallen off the hall wall (was still intact when I came in at about 2 a.m.); and continued with Younger Granddaughter throwing up on her lovely "Frozen" costume just given her by Santa, and on her Gruffalo mouse also just given her by Santa. However, nothing untoward has happened for the last couple of hours.

So far so good here.
The dog managed 32:xx at Peckham Rye. She could have gone sub-30 but in typical beginner-style she paced it badly, went off too fast and blew up at 3k, so we had to do a bit of run/walk for a while until she'd got her breath back. (We also had to stop for a bit so that I could clear up after her, and so that she could say hello to a small fluffy black thing called George.)

pr done. very mild out there.
Kids didn't bring stockings in until almost 8.00 this morning - ah the delights of them getting older
Presents unwrapped. Everyone happy. New running shorts and gloves for me and loads of books. An hour of peace and quite before we hit the road down to the south coast. Looking forward to a run along the Downs tomorrow hopefully, dependent on volume of alcoho tonight.
Merry Christmas Gonks.

Oh no Columba Poor little girl, I hope it’s over now.
Presents, bacon and eggs, church, sherry and tea with the outlaws (MiL and Aunt iL). Ironing Mr Carp's shirt while he takes them home, and it's off to the ancestors for Christmas lunch.
(I did the rest of the ironing while I was at it. I realise this might seem a bit odd today but I rarely get the iron out).
