Oh no Caz. My brother had issues due to a leg injury when he was young. He was refused enlistment and decided against appealing it. In the end he went to night school to get his A-levels sorted and then went to Uni. Whilst at Uni he was allowed to join the TA. Not long after starting with them he was offered a shot term regular commission (post degree). In his case a full career was unlikely due to the predicted early onset arthritis in his previously damaged knee but a short term contract would have been acceptable to them. My brother thought about it, but only briefly, if they wanted him on caveat and solely on their terms then it wasn't for him.
Was it a flat out rejection or was there mention of specialist for consultation?
I joined with people who were at first rejected on medical grounds but had it overturned on appeal.

Caz Hope various medical appointments went well CBA today, just wanted to sleep. Gets to the point where it's so dark I would dearly love to hibernate. I think I was a hedgehog in a former life.

CAZ. I've a couple of friends whose offspring have missed out on forces careers because of long-distant ailments - but in the end they found alternative careers (including the Met Police) which they are more than happy with. If it's a definite 'no' I hope your son can find something equally satisfying.
Long day in Wales, but fruitful in that not only did I get my mum to the chest xray (against some resistance) but also to see her new GP. He was taken aback to discover that she had given up taking her medication for raised BP and other things back in July 2015. 'I decided I didn't need it' she told him 'Anyway, I've still got a packet at home'

Daisy, the pros and cons of medication is a whole new thread. Did your mum say why she didn't take it,maybe side effects or thoughts like I don't feel ill why do I need medicine?
