Oh no, MrsH! Bad news on the redundancy
Just tried my new shoes on, they're a bit snug round the arch, bit of a weird fit. Must remember to stick with brands I've tried before in future! Wind is picking right up so I better get out the door before I get attacked by trees and stuff!

really windy here! it's rattling the roof-lights to my cave and being generally drafty, don't fancy venturing outside!

Afternoon
Slept well last night, to my great relief. 4 mile part commute this morning. Managed to miss the worst of the wind.
At Son2's request I have compiled a weekly menu (he was sick and tired of us not figuring out what was for dinner until just before we ate, which meant he often resulted to stuff in the fridge beforehand). I will try to update it every weekend and will be visiting the 'What's For Dinner Tonight?' thread for inspiration.

Mrs. H - that's bad, Mrs. H. How definite is it?
Fleecy, that sounds like the flight from hell. Or rather, the flight in hell. Airlines now seem to cater much better for families with small children.
Ferret - excellent news on the walking; the running will return in due time.
CStar, I heard that news on the radio, about your ex-colleague (not that I knew he was your ex-colleague). "We took risks; we knew we took them; things have come out against us; therefore we have no cause for complaint" - quotation from Scott's journal.

Take care Fleecey, I got out and multitasked, carried a large parcel down to the post office, bought milk then battled the wind and rain for another few miles Now nice and warm and on the sofa

Will know by mid Feb. Just trying to work it, if it happens, that I don't go back after London marathon - that might spur me on in the last few miles - finish, get home and stay there for a good few days to recover, and chill out in the spa

Thank you for the sleep dust, whoever it was who sprinkled it round the thread. I woke at 5.20 but went back to sleep again until 8.30.
And now have to psych myself up to in extremely windy, extremely wet conditions. Whatever I wear, I shall come home drenched through. And the cap, with which I hope to keep the rain off my glasses, will probably blow off.
