*Wanders into thread and takes a visitors chair for a bit*
I have a shoe problem, bought some Salomons for off road shenanigans, size 7.5 as they seemed a good fit in the shop. I use Asics Kayanos size 7.5 most of the time and they fit wonderfully well, but the Salomons are too small. Weirdly in normal shoes I am a 6.5 or 7. The Salomons give me blisters the size of acorns on my little toes and feel too short when going down hill. Granted I live and mainly run in Norfolk so not too hilly, but they aren't even wide enough on me, and last week in the Lakes it was murder on my big toes coming down any hills. Bummocks.
Also lots of excellent running going on here so I have brought some freshly knitted I was coming back from the Lakes when you were heading up there, beautiful isn't it.

Hi all,
Achilles a little tender this morning, but apart from that I am not feeling to bad.
I put some stuff down into the blog about the race but yes FML, the wind was a bit of a bugger along the prom.

Well done Andy
That wind could have been demoralising, especially as your first HM
So do you have the HM bug?

Hiya- I'm home from the lakes adventure. What a fab weekend, lots of laughs and shenanigans that are 'you had to be there' moments.
Mr AL was the perfect tour guide, his knowledge of the area was brilliant and I'll certainly be back.
Ymee, I was dropping my parents off at the caravan park at Berwick. It's their favourite place in the whole wide world! Next time I'm taking them down or I'm down that way I'll give you a shout.

Lemon I've loads of friends who swear by various Salomons for off-road but every pair I've ever tried on were far too narrow - yet for most of my life I have had shoeshop assistants say, 'oh haven't you got narrow feet'. Since I've been running my feet have flattened and widened so I always choose the 'wide' option for the Adrenalines, but the 16s just aren't for me :-(.
Ferret, I've never noticed your similarity to Olive Oyl - I'll have to look closer next time

The Functional Movement class was really tough, but I think it may be one of my favourite hours of the week

That's odd, I have Salomon sense mantras and they fit fine on my fairly wide feet (wide at toe, v narrow ankles) but they are half a size bigger (7s) than inov-8s (6.5) but I do only wear 5s in normal school shoes.
Someone suggested to me the other day that my foot issues might be from wearing old running shoes, which are in effect too big, for walking in. They might have a point so I shall refrain from doing so for a while and see....

LD - I think I may have inadvertently widened my feet through running, as they look narrow until I put weight through them, then they flatten out. Gutted as I can't see me running in them.
Great blogging Andy, and given how sick you were you did so well!
