Size 6 shoe generally but gone from 71/2 to 8 now for running. So weird. Look like Olive Oil 😂

I had run in the 16s several times, over varying distances, before yesterday's 8 but none of the runs had been particularly comfy :-(. Yesterday's experience tells me that they'll only be any good for very short runs.

Morning all
Busy weekend run directing and bed shifting and partying, then houseworking. Somehow didn't get out for the run I'd planned.

Today WFH with jobs - cat has been vetted (at humungous cost, really fed up with how much it costs to keep a terminally not very well (hyper-thyroid) but alright in herself senior cat going...) and dentist for me later. Have booked in to try out a GRIT class at the work gym later having convinced them to give me a free pass. Yep having WFH all day, I shall be heading to work to use the gym.

Lakes sounded great fun, and lots of good racing going on here!
and yep, I wore New Balance for years but did not like the 1080 V5s, seemed more plasticky foam and less give? Seem to have settled on Brooks Ravenna now.

Heading to my folks after the best weekend away in the lakes.

Was great to see Star and AL again and brilliant to meet Mr AL, Fleecy and alpenrose.

I can highly recommend the lakeland trail races. In fact we have been thinking it may be a possibility for a social again next year. Looks like the best bet would be Helvellyn as that has 5k, 10k and 15k options. It is on 14/10/17.

Will sort out photos and blog when I get home 😃

How truly annoying about the shoes, Daisy. It's not as though running shoes were cheap.

I have read that running shoes don't (or shouldn't) need breaking in; if they're not comfortable when new, they never will be.

We should definitely do a Lakeland social next year, I want to try out the other races! Mid Oct is probably good for me too, I'll try not to go to a conference first next time...

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2016 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

bunting and 700er medals are often spotted around here.

Happy running :-)
