Hi everyone. Fairly new runner and fetchie. 500 isn't in the cards for me this year, but I will exceed my 400 mile goal! Maybe 500 in 2020.

I love the positivity in this community. That's hard to achieve online.

Hi Stst85. Congratulations on making your first post, and welcome to the 500ish mile thread.
The “ish” is a very important part of the thread name, because it’s a case of do what you can. Doing something is so much better than doing nothing, and you’re doing something!

Hi Stst85 and welcome to Fetch!

The Fetch community does epitomise runners generally. Some may have greater mileage, run more races or be faster but everyone here is a valued contributor and encourager to all. Similar to a race - it doesn't matter how quick or experienced you are, everyone runs in one direction with the same objective of getting from a to b.

Good run Phil. I hope that your body is holding up ok.

8 miles this morning which is my longest since January. I had planned to do 7 miles, but came across a “swim the locks” event. They were swimming from Eynsham Lock, and with a bit of running too, ending up at Godstowe Lock.
To add an extra challenge for myself, I thought that I’d run an extra mile to take in one of the intermediary locks.

Welcome Stst85 here’s to your first years Fetch target whatever it may be!

Great posts Phil and Red good to see you both back out.

We’re at the boat this weekend got up and did a ru. yesterday if put it in the moderately hard effort and I was pleased to hit 5.6m in just under the hour. Today I ran with my friend she smashed her knee at Xmas in a riding accident so we just took it steady chatted the whole way and did 5m in just over the hour. So as easy as that 10m done this weekend. Running is still feeling good and I’ll take everyone like that!

6.5m short of the 500 so going to up my target to 700 will be a push but let’s see you have to try don’t you. I will still be here though keeping a check on you all.

Keep running and being amazing.

Hi Stst85.
Nice to see a bit of activity on here again. Good running everyone. It's inspired me to think about entering a HM in November...

If I got out for a run I might make 500m.... honestly this week has been mental. Cant see next week being any better with my 50th next Friday (and my mam's 75) and a party to organise and a house to get ready for guests arriving - oh and lunch for travelling visitors before they head home on Sunday - I don't do things by half.

I am aiming to run in the morning may only be 3-4miles and I'll try to fit in a run Sunday. 2 weeks until Loch Ness so at least that's a guaranteed 26m (inshala)

Hope you all have a fab weekend

About This Thread

Maintained by geordiegirl
*EDIT* in the current situation we are not entering races but I think we can still log any plans we may have over the coming months, whether it is learning a new skill, ticking jobs off a list, moving house(!), doing alternative exercise, aiming for training hours instead of miles, writing to family & friends, finding inventive ways to be together virtually or even entering virus races please fill in the planner and I’ll update this thread and keep our little social group going to share our goals.

Everyone is welcome, whether you don't want to set an official target or you may be aiming further but still want to pop by for a chat/offer some words of wisdom or just because the door is always open and kettle is on.

(When you go in give yourself a colour so I know you're wanting to be on the sheet so I can keep it tidy)

If you update the race planner after I've updated the header drop me an fmail or a reminder (or 2) on the thread so I know to update. Thanks
