Only time I've ever used tights/leggings was running the Hebridean Way, as I was worried about ticks and Scottish bitey things.

I did accidentally run in vest and shorts in -1C in Canada...the previous day was quite warm, so when I went out like that, I thought "hmm, it's a bit brisk this morning". Another lady out running looked at me like I was insane...which I didn't understand until I got home and found what the temp was that morning!

However, since a diagnosis of lymphoedema I do have to wear compression calf guards so its almost like full length leggings. I also do wear gloves as I suffer with Raynaud's and if it is really cold I have to wear a buff over my ears.
