Blimey.
I was at a race recently and a friend of mine, who has the same size feet, gave me a go in his the next model down from the 4% (Zoom Flynit, I think). I was surprised at how stiff they felt, but they obviously have some springy speed potential. I don't think I'd want to run a marathon in them, but then I don't weigh as little as Kipchoge

Jono.
doesn't seem that long ago, you could go into sports direct and buy a pair of Asics for £40 - mind you I maintain that its still cheaper than going out in town on a Saturday night.

Quite an investment for shoes, there is surely some marketing hype around the price structure.

At my level of running I suspect that a more expensive shoe would make little difference. I would've thought that for someone as quick as Gobi it would make a difference though.

When I was a runner I didn't like to spend more than 75 quid on shoes.
Now I am a cyclist even these don't seem that bad if they bring results.
If anyone wants to know how much they cost drop me a message as I am too embarrassed to post the price.

Thanks for a very interesting round up Westmoors.
Must go and read Bonners' blog.
I need to get some new shoes soon. When I first started running, I could easily get them for around £50-60 quid. Sadly they're a lot more expensive these days - I can sometimes still find discounted versions for around £60-70, but sometimes I do have to bite the bullet and pay full price

Same here Jenny, I'm afraid I rarely use a shop and tend to scour the Internet for cheap deals on last year's model.
