tomorrow is curry night...to celebrate #1 sons first GCSE i got flowers through the post today for mothers day. doesnt sound that amazing, but they are from the children and hubby never gets involved with mothers day (he doesnt think its anything to do with him) so its all there own doing. Generally i hate mothers day as it falls on or near the anniversary of my mums death so this is big for me. Last year I spent mothers day in the hospital with my dad....it was the beginning of his final demise so i knew it would be tough this year.

Morning Toks - take it easy love, you've done a lot of hard work towards TP.
Pedro I LOVE YOU and I've never met you - sorry to hear about the kids but it is better that they have the pox now I had the pox as an adult, not nice (that sounds wrong really).
anyway after a busy night shift - legs felt tired today and I was hoping to run a couple of miles at 8.45 pace - bit windy along the promenade and it didn't happen.

I have never understood Mother's Day, or Father's Day come to that. Why pick one day to be nice to your mum? Either all days are Mother's Day or no days are.

I'm buying presents for my wife on behalf of my kids who are too young to buy them. That's pretty mad if you ask me.

for the 1st time ever I don't have to make any efforts on behalf of my children for mrs j. Molly j has her shit sorted out and joe's school set up store, so the kids can buy moms pressies.
mind you he has just come in and told his mom what he's bought her - even though someone at joe's school has taken the trouble to wrap the pressies up! mrs j has laughed.

i take the points about the daftness of mothers day gifts.....but ive found the last 13 years of mothers day really tough and its nice to have something to smile about this year instead of an empty void .

I ran 7 miles this evening. There was a flurry of snow. It was an OK run.
I bought carnations as this weeks flowers for the house. In remembrance of my MIL. She liked carnations as they were cheap and lasted ages. A wise lady. Fizz missed the significance.
