Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

I give my old trainers to my daughter for school PE lessons.

Not sure yet where I’ll run my 100th. I’ve done Southampton. There may be one starting nearby soon...

I tend to buy last year's colours/style and effectively get two pairs for the price of one and then I alternate them but I've found that I can get 1000km out of a pair of Hoka but couldn't get anywhere near that in my Saucony.

I've done ok this week and I'm following a half marathon plan which is getting me out and about. My plan was for a long run of which I did a warm up to the start line of a 5km trail race and then tacked on more time after the race ended.

I use my old shoes for kicking around in or donate them if they still have miles left in them.

8 miles this morning. I’m marathon training (Great Welsh marathon in April) so hoping my training plan will keep me on track for my annual mileage target. Plus I’ve entered my first ultra in October 😱

Trainers are so personal! I destroy Hokas very quickly - they seem to fall apart and rip!

I've got two pairs approaching 1,000 ,miles and probably could get another score or so out of them both, I'll see how they go! I'm like others here who use old trainers for all sorts! However this current pair have had a bashing because of the wet trails this last few months..no good for anything else afterwards.
In the olden days (!!)..late 70's onwards..it was possible to get new outer soles put on trainers and there were specialists (?) who did it for a couple of quid. I had several pairs re-soled and there was no problem with the mid sole. And models didn't change very often--it didn't take long for the big profit making companies to catch on to the "fashion" of colours etc and increase their prices heftily.

I'm like you duo--I get last years colours!

steve45 - my husband was just reminiscing about getting his first pairs of running shoes re soled!

I buy last year's models, just as I thought I have two new pairs stashed away and am probably going to take one pair for a run this afternoon.

My wife's like you with Hokas, MrsB. She loves them but it's practically ordering another pair soon after the last pair has arrived!

Slow stat to year but another 6.7 miles this morning in windy cold conditions. Due to get even windier tomorrow.

My Asics 1000 V7 which I purchased recently at half price in a sale, were last years model and my third pair. The V8's are out now.

I ran 6 miles this morning in the forest with a running friend. It was mainly on gravel trails which had dried out. The wind was icy and cutting, but thankfully I was wearing my woolly hat.

I went out for a run and got drenched when an idiot drove, at speed, through the puddle next to the pavement. I may have sworn at him.

This is going to be a challenge for me, one it will be the lowest mileage total since joining fetch many years ago, but this wont be through lack of trying, but how much my MS can be managed...

I was diagnosed in August last year following MRIs / bloods ect.... has now been provisional confirmed as Primary Progressive MS.

However I can still run, but just unable to run the distance and hardness of my running, so am currently living off parkruns (503 to date) and 10ks to keep me occupied running wise... aim is to do at least 1 race a month...

so onwards and upwards and time to fight this battle and get some blessings :-)
