Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Hope everyone was safe over the weekend. It really was yucky.

GB sorry to hear about your family issues.

Belated happy birthday HS

Managed to pick up a bug last week which went from a sore throat down into my chest so no running last week.

Did 4 miles this morning felt good clearing some gunk out 😐

YTD 1245 miles.

Yes, but the conversation she is referring too was over a month ago and something she relayed to her daughter mid last week when she was visiting.

Excellent miles MrHSc hope you are over the bug now

LL, as long as you enjoyed the race, the time isn't that important, doing it is.

gb, well done for this mornings 5 miles.

Thanks MrHSc, I had a good day. Unfortunately, all the local parkruns were cancelled, so I couldn't try for an improved WAVA. I'll give it a go this Saturday.

I'm sorry to hear that you picked up a bug last week, but glad that you managed a 4 miles run this morning.

Thanks Steve, well done for this mornings 2.2 miles.

I wore my new Asics 1000 v13 this morning for the first time, and ran a solo 5k on a hilly road course. It was my quickest time on this course for several years 😀

gb, I think that you are right. I might wear them for Saturdays parkrun if conditions are favourable.

Hope the UK based among us, think that's everyone except Jack, coped ok with the weekend 'storm'. I start to worry about our 100 year old roof when the Met Office tells me my local wind speeds will be 60 (or more) mph. Thankfully when things calmed down by the end of Sunday, it was still all up there.

Jack: I'm sure your mojo will return. Focus on enjoyment, not targets. Have to say, that's why, other than an annual total mileage target which I record here and an awareness of the times I run at the 2 or 3 events I do per year (+ parkrun times) are the only notes I keep about my running. I think to much recording and monitoring can create anxiety when, lets remember, we're doing this for enjoyment.

In the last few days I've managed:

Thurs 4 miles

Fri 3.1 (treadmill)

Sat: 3.1 at my parkrun. Just about got away with the weather, winds didn't pick up until mid morning and the rain, more or less, held off.

Mon: 7.1

YTD: 1018.0

Phew to the roof Donnie well done for braving the storm.

Indeed FF, but that’s my family for you. Problem is worsened as both cousin and her daughter are drama queens.

I’ve sent a joint message to both of them but no answer friend said she’d spoken to my godson and he’s ok but another friend has messaged to ask what has gone on with him and H!! FFS. I’m so so so so SO glad we don’t have mods I can just switch off the world & feign illness next Wednesday when we’re all supposed to be out.

Anyway must stop blathering.

Well done folks, some great running despite the weather in the UK over the weekend.

I hope your motivation comes back soon Jack. It's hard running when its hot and humid (even in Scotland).

We have a fair few family drama's here too. fingers crossed it all gets sorted out GG.

It wasn't much of a storm here on Saturday/Sunday. I know it was different elsewhere. I decided to change to do my 100th parkrun this weekend instead, my friend had a bit of a cold and thought it wasn't fair on her to go out in the rain. I did 10 miles along the river in said rain, I have been out in far worse. Weather looking good for this Saturday, cold though.

Right trying to find the motivation to do some work and I will be running tonight.
