Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

5 mile easy run tonight on a fairly hilly route. A little bit behind where I should be on mileage, but 9 miles planned for Sunday so should catch up a bit.

Ahh just 0.02 off a red heart for the first time this year. Have another run planned for tomorrow so fingers crossed lol

Getting back into it rightly after the knee injury. Knee actually feels fine - it's just the fitness that's lacking!

RFJ, the Brockenhurst parkrun is my local, and in Wilverley Inclosure this time of year.I wasn't there today, but understand it was even muddier than 2 weeks ago.The start and finish have been altered to try and avoid the muddiest parts where there is most congestion. Hope you had a good run in the conditions. I will be there next week for my 50th parkrun.

Lin50, hope you have a good run tomorrow.

Slowblonde, great to see you getting back into it again. You could have been top of the leader board last year, if it wasn't for your knee injury. I know how you feel regarding the lack of fitness. It's 2.5 years since my knee injury and I'm still not back to full fitness. However, I'm probably twice your age, so it is to be expected.

The weather was foul this morning, strong winds and torrential rain. I ran 7.5 miles on roads, the first couple at easy pace and then intervals.

Thanks Hillstrider. Bit of work to be done to get into the top 10 but gonna keep trying 😁

Can't quite decide on the target for this year. Was initially planning my first ultra before the injury but just not sure now. Dublin Marathon usually the focus but pacing some friends to their first marathon rather than aiming for a pb this year. There's a local 50k in June and tempted just to give it a go with no time pressure. Next few weeks should really help me see where things stand.

Hillstrider - yes we got there and yes was muddy and hilly but had a lovely welcome, and me and the Mrs had good hard runs, just over 5 for the day so happy with that, the second hill was a tad tough... :-)

The 15 on the plan today ended up being 16. I ran 10 miles with company today which is unusual for me, it made quite a nice change although we ran around town and not out in the countryside which I normally do.

Rest day tomorrow and back to it Tuesday.

Half (Brass Monkey) this morning was good although it started off in horrid cold rain, and it just got better. Running with a friend, a new PB for both of us. 😁 (I beat him though!).

I may have have just set my own bar a little high for the year by doing this in January again! Although it does mean I've now got a >65% WAVA for a half, at least, so I've met the first of my targets for the year.
