Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Just catching up after a quiet weekend on Fetch, well done runners and run walkers, some nice miles covered and races ran.
I hope to get out for a run tomorrow, that will be just my second run of the month, nothing wrong just the way it's worked out.

Well said GG, it's your run, and you run as you want to, and not as what others say.

I'm glad that you enjoy your run/walking Jaks. Well done for yesterday's hike.

Well done Steve for another early morning run. You are building up your mileage nicely.

This morning was an enjoyable 8.61 miles in the forest with the Monday Group. I'm pleased to say that I felt 100% better than yesterday.

Funny enough I walked a bit at a 10 mile race yesterday. I met a friend who was doing a planned Jeff. As it was too hot for me to run to my best I did it with her until about 8 miles. She then had a bit of tum issues and I finished off by myself. A personal worst for the distance but I’m not a warm weather runner.

Well done LL for Sundays 10 mile race. I think that you did the right thing by Jeffing in the warm conditions.

I've got the New Forest 10 mile race in 3 weeks, and it is quite possible that I might Jeff a bit. Some posters on the Facebook Over 70's forum have advised that technically, to get the most benefit from the technique, it should be implemented from the very start, and not waiting until fatigue starts kicking in.

I have arrived in that their London Town. Checked in to my very small travelodge room (& wishing I’d not spotted this option and stick with tower bridge hotel… I’ll learn 🤣) and all being well I’ll be out tomorrow for my run - aiming for a loop round past Tower Bridge.

Started my coaching plan today, tomorrow is intervals which could be interesting on the city! If I fail I’ll do them on Wednesday.

Good luck for your 10miler hs, hopefully you’ll be fighting fit by then and a friend had my mam jeff her 2nd GNR a few years back she took 5min off her previous year and finished way fresher than her running when she could and walking when she couldn’t.

Nice to have done a ten mile race LL. Conditions make a big difference to performance and you did well to adjust accordingly.
You're right about the Jeffing technique hs, it's a "formal" utilisation of run/walk from the off to use it effectively .
Ugh to your coaching start of intervals gg! I'm sure the overall coaching will benefit you.... provided that your personal emphasis on enjoyment still sits into the plan!
My Jeffing this morning was ok, 5.2 miles with a mist hanging low along river trails. I'm increasing miles but will level out now to around 20-25 miles a week for the rest of the year. Despite the consistency I'm still not able to up my pace or prolong running periods during the Jeffing. I'll carry on!

Best of luck with your coaching plan GG.
Thanks, I should be fit by then. Yesterday's 8.61 miles went well, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow's hill session.

Well done for this mornings Jeffing Steve. 20 - 25 mile weeks is more than most achieve.

It's always good running in lovely weather FF.

An early morning Farmers Walk and then a drive into the village for an appointment with my solicitor.

Tuesday is Market Day, and is always busy. Great for trade, and the cafés soon fill up.

There has been some great running here, well done on your races Pix and LL.

We had lots and lots of rain at the weekend, I am glad we drove home on Saturday morning. I got out for a run on Sunday morning - the river was very high (it's been higher). There is a lovely track along the river that I went along and the water was not far off it in places. Glad it stopped raining. Hoping to get out later with the club.

GG is your coach with Pyllon? My friends partner Paul Gibblin started Pyllon and I know quite a few of their runners.

Lots of miles being run, well done everyone.

I’ve just been doing a couple of miles over the past 2 days as my calves are sore from my hike on Sunday. Could have done with warming up my muscles before going straight up Grey crag from the car park after an hour and a half sat in the car to get there.
