That's a good start Evangel, and I'm sure that you will soon get quicker. Don't expect to get back to 2020 times though, as you are nearly 4 years older now. I'm still trying to get back to sub 28 minutes, but it is very unlikely.

Thatโ€™s great Evangel.

Iโ€™ve never been a fast runner but Iโ€™d love to get a sub 30mins 5k again. I might have a chance if I ran somewhere flat regularly but I like to run on undulating/hilly trails so will always be a tad slower. Thatโ€™s my excuse anyway ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Jaks, I also like to run on undulating hilly trails, hence my username.

Thanks Jaks. Great seven miler there and on hills. My favourite route until I went downhill (pun intended!) was a very hilly 9 miler that I used to do with my wife nearly every weekend. She hasn't been able to do it either since hip replacement and residual post op issues. We miss the hills.
Nuisance rain for you hs but still a fine run.
What super progress Evangel, may it continue.
My cadence is measured on my Suunto EPix as well as HR and goodness knows what else! Despite the tech I have to say that apart from a stop watch none of the information has made my running more enjoyable or "better". But I still use it, heck, seemingly just to keep and compare the data!

A wild wet windy 4.3 miles along sodden trails was not enjoyable today. I'm in a reasonable routine again for now though so try not to slack! Won't run tomorrow, it's the weights etc instead!

Thanks Steve, well done on your run today.

Iโ€™m still walking the hills at the moment to keep my HR low but hopefully will be able to run them when my fitness improves.

I went out for a streak saving mile run this morning and it was very wet and very windy ๐Ÿ˜.

Well done Jaks keeping the streak going.

Steve, I always look at, but don't take much notice of the all the data on Garmin Connect. Good sessions named "unproductive" an easy run recommend "a rest day, " conversely, a really hard session, "3 hours rest and train as usual!"

Well done for your wild, wet windy run this morning.

Just the usual Tuesday Farmers Walk this morning.

Well done for going out in the wind and rain guys. Glad to see you have done some running Evangel, hope you are feeling better.

I do look at my HR data and splits on my runs. I know that the VO2 max number is rubbish. My watch is constantly saying I am in recovery at the moment.

Should be heading to a club session later for some intervals, supposed to rain but I hope it stays off for the duration of the session. That's work done for the day.

I've just been reading a paper on VO2 max Lesley comparing "proper" tests (measuring through a face mask all the oxygen in and all CO2 out etc) with the one's gleaned from a watch. Needless to say the watch measurements give a fair indication but only the proper ones are accurate.
When Paula Radcliffe broke the marathon record years ago her VO2 hadn't improved at all over the previous two years; so her great improvements were put down to improved form and stuff like that.
My intention of a morning run were washed out by looking out of the window at the trees swaying and rain lashing down!
Well done Jaks on the streak saving mile despite the weather and of course well walked hs!

Not going out this morning because it was raining steve45? Well that sounds just like me ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ and I thought you were made of sterner stuff.
