Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

We seem to have been lucky here in the South Lesley, as although we had very strong winds, they didn't do as much damage as expected.

Today was not quite as cold as yesterday, as the winds have eased down. I ran 10.42 miles with 5 club mates in the forest, except for about a mile on the roads. They were icy, and I very nearly had a nasty fall. Thankfully the runner next to me grabbed my arm and I managed to stay upright!

Take care everyone, better to miss a few frozen runs than be in plaster for 6 weeks or so.

It was 2 years yesterday that I broke my arm resulting in surgery. I’ve been a lot more cautious since.

You're doing amazingly FF with those seven miles.
Heck hs, that ice must have been a surprise because I remember you saying you don't run when it's icy. Overall great run there though.
Glad you're cautious LL after your experience and situation. You wouldn't need to worry today though-- it was 10c when I ran this morning! Even so my "engine" wasn't firing too well. I won't exceed last year's total, I could if I wanted it enough but I'm on to exceed 2019 total. Nowhere near some strong runners here but it'll do!

Thanks LL. Sorry to hear that you broke your arm 2 years ago, but good that you are now more cautious.

Thanks FF, you are right, and I wouldn't deliberately run on ice.

Steve, yes the ice was a surprise, and was probably black ice. We were running on the grass verges of the road most of the time, but I must have stepped off for some reason. It was definitely milder today, typical for a rest day. Good luck to beat your 2019 mileage.

Thanks Steve, another 8 this morning.

This will be my lowest mileage year since I started running again in 2014. Unless December is exceptional I won't reach 500 miles.

It’s 400 odd miles more than plenty FF.

I got a bit caught out with the patchy ice too.

It’s not always healthy to be chasing targets.

It’s about being lucky enough to be able to run and enjoying the benefits.

I hope you didn't fall on the patchy ice LL!
Targets aren't that important, although they can be an incentive to run when we lose our mojos from time to time.

Today's work out was 6 hill reps in the forest.
