Gale force winds from the middle of the night, and only just easing off now. We decided not to run in the forest, so ran a very slow, slowest ever, 5k on roads. It was a struggle against the wind, which was icy cold 🥶. Glad that I ran though. Surpringly, the local parkruns weren't cancelled, but they must have modified the nearest one, as the results on strava showed it was nearly half a mile short.

Well done LL doing your parkrun, but a shame about the icy shower. Thanks, it was really cold and it is true what my parents said that when you get older, you feel the cold more. In my younger days, I ran cross country in vest and shorts.

A solo 11k forest run this morning. There was a minus 5 degrees wind chill. I made the mistake of wearing trail shoes, as the ground was rock hard.

That would have been harder on the joints HS. Cold and windy 5:49 miles for me. Dry and sunny though.

What a difference a day or two makes! Glorious sunshine and no wind made for almost perfect running conditions. At 0c I don't move so well but we can't have everything at this time of year! A five miler including picking up large fallen branches along trails-- good excuse to pause running!! My wife was with a friend three miles ahead to do a 19 miler; can't go with that!! Good runs there hs and LL.

Runsaffyrun there at the top of the board will hit 2,000 soon. What a fantastic total and even more impressive given she only ran 750 last year and 200 odd the year before. I wonder saffy whether you simply haven't put your runs in on fetch?! Great running.

LL, yes it was much harder on the joints, and as well as the ground being hard, it was also very uneven, with lots of pot holes and roots. Well done for your 5.49 miles.
Well done Steve, good to hear that your running is getting back to normal again. Your wife is amazing, all the miles she runs. One of our lady runners ran an Ultra at the weekend. That's an amazing mileage by RunSaffy!

Very cold out there today. Can't believe the devastation from that storm on Friday night. Trees down everywhere. Had to change my route this afternoon.
A number of local towns and villages have had no power since Friday, we have been lucky and only left with no water and internet for half of yesterday. We have had the In laws at ours so they can get a heat and a meal.
