Paper/printing waste..Evangel and other Welsh folks will know: all paper communications from local authorities, government etc and others have to be sent to us in Welsh AND English. The double quantity of paper used nationwide is bonkers. The principal is to promote the use of the Welsh language which is all very well except for paper/photocopy/print ink waste. I recently had a five page A4 document in both languages, one went back into recycling without looking at it, this is a regular occurrence. I asked my Assembly Minister why there can't be an opt in or out in respect of receiving such stuff. No joy! Still bitterly cold , minus 2.5c but no snow. Again 5k was enough!

I am originally very English, and I love the English language. I always snarl when I see it written incorrectly. I don't fink kids is taught how to speak or write proper these days. I would have thought that people could be asked which language they prefer, for any forms, literature etc. That works well enough for cash machines.
I shall have my 8 mile run today when my wife returns. I prefer to run just before lunch, when the temperature has risen by half a degree!

An interesting discussion resulting from my comment re stuffing my trainers with newspapers 😁

We try to recycle as much as we can and what the council allows us too
Take care

Got 5.6 miles done in the cold but sunny conditions but it did snow for a time while I was out which strangely seemed to make it warmer.

Has anyone else managed to run through the whole winter season in shorts rather than leggings? I am not hard core as still have 2 layers on top and gloves but can't stand running in leggings/tracksuit bottoms and hat - make me too hot.

No! For me it's not about being hard, hard core or on the other hand being wimpish! It's about how I personally "feel" the cold (I have raynauds) and, based on lots of years of people having injuries a fair way from home in very cold weather it makes sense to dress appropriatley..for oneself. Walking or limping home several miles with an injury and getting pointlessly too cold should not be an option. I have to wear gloves for probably six months of the year too....Anyone who can withstand the kind of chill we've had recently in minimum kit has a better circulation than I do! Great stuff!

I don't like long leggings I get too warm but I have some light 3/4 ones I prefer in the winter. I never need gloves or hats as by the time I do 1 mile I am very warm. In the summer I have more problems as can't keep cool.

I used to wear just shorts, but in recent years I have resorted to leggings, and this year I decided to wear them from the beginning of December until the end of February at least. This is because I have potential problems with my knees, so I need to keep them warm. Basically though, my legs don't feel the cold, but my skinny body and hands do.
