Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Jimbo 4 days before the race I picked up a hamstring injury and my hopes of getting a sub 45 seemed dashed.
During the warm up I could really feel the injury and was hoping to get round in one piece, so think how shocked I was when I finished in a PB of 42:47. Nearly 5 minutes off my time at last years event.

KatieB I will be happy with around 51 mins for this, and a decently paced race...with a digital watch!!!!So there slow going.
Update: well i guess the reverse psychology worked then. I sneaked my first ever sub 50! Felt fantastic up to 6.5k, then it all got quite tough. Remembered mrb saying

PlodderRW AFTER: Well time wasn't as hoped, but pleased to be sub-50 and lots faster than last year. Could do with some more speedwork and a bit more time to get fully back from injury. Good run though, pushed it the whole way, legs burning. Cold sunny skies, little wind, conditions were perfect.

BEFORE: Hoping to celebrate return from injury. Training has been up and down so no idea whether I'll be even close to 48.19, but will give it a go, would be a new PB. One year since I started running again after a few years break, so if all else fails i'll try to beat my 54 something from last year's race.
