About this parkrun
The Ryde Course - a mixture of hilly small wooded park with a steep climb and trecherous descent on to the sea front for an out and back loop, all done twice. The seafront cafe might be seasonal.Groundhog 9th Jan 2019
Not done Newport version. Ryde version (usually May-Sep/Oct, check!) is hilly & often a different course each time. Always uphill near the end! Not fast but spectacular views & you can watch the hovercraft! 2 decent cafes either side of Appley park.

Newport (home) Winter course is a loop around a grassy sports pitch, out along captive gravel river bank, sharp turn and reverse the course, pretty much. Out and back section is narrow - limited overtaking opportunities, so get into position by 1km!

Great event with mix of terrain and a number of twists & turns

Beautiful but undulating!

The course today was 2 laps of lots of grass with some tarmac and some trail. There were many turns but they weren't too bad.

The Summer course at Ryde starts with a loop on grass before descending to the promenade for a flat middle section followed by an ascent back up onto the grass for the finish. Grass and paths uneven in places - watch your footing on the descent.

Newport course - one of the friendliest events, found the course a bit boring with lots of turns. Grass and trails. Defo wear trail shoes if it's wet. Plenty of parking and loos.
