Bennifer What a fab race! Perfect weather, perfect scenery and perfect company. I was not entirely sure if I was going to get round at all! Did this last year and enjoyed it but have been poorly the whole of this year so far and have done virtually no running. I had Hendo and his Fetch top to pace me and although I didn't manage sub 55 I was considerably quicker than last year and more than happy. Thanks Hendo x

dungey2002 Great weather, great location. Underestimated the hills.

Time is from Garmin, which I started when I passed the start. It also measured the route at 6.3 miles

Hendo This is the best 10k, if not race, I know. Ran with Jennie, so it was nice not to be uptight about times and trying not to kill myself (just her!). She did very very well on a difficult hilly course and not having trained for a couple of weeks due to illness. Beautiful day, beautiful scenery, and an all day breakfast in a shed. Happy days.

jolguk I can maybe blame my lack of sleep and drinking the night before a bit, but the main issue was definitely my lack of training on hills. Unlike others' reports on RW, I found that the first hill was the worst, but that was mainly because I tried to blast up it, doing the first k in 4:15. Stupid. I knew things were bad when a guy asked me if I was ok at 1.5 k. But I'd relaxed/given up by the next loop, so the other hills felt a lot more comfortable and I blasted the last couple of kilometres, although the finishing strait is deceptively long and a combination of my laces coming undone and starting to puke - inevitably - finished me. 6 mins slower than my PB. I cried. It was very pretty, but I was hurting too much to look too closely. Fetch shirts were very thin on the ground. I saw none, and my injured, spectating friend only saw one. When she shouted 'Go, Fectch' at him, or something he looked confused! Very different from the North West, where I usually run.
