_andy 1:28:25 is a pretty hefty PB for me, neatly dodging the 1:29 times completely. Felt comfortable most of the way, joined a group of about ten between 2 and 4 miles and tucked in nicely at the back, but the hill at Vane farm proved a bit too much and I fell off the back. After that, it was a pretty lonely nine miles, with three runners passing me at various points and me pulling back one place with an impressive sprint finish (that's what I'm built for - this endurance malarky running is just me being daft). 39th place and mission accomplished. Yay!

cake muncher Placed 3rd / 1st vet. A very well organised and scenic race around Loch Leven. I really liked the souvenir towel and bag. Thought they were much better than a medal. We even got good running weather for a change!

Dvorak Mixed feelings about this. Considering that I came down with a stomach bug on Sunday and have been on under half rations all week, I suppose turning up was a bit of an achievement, and finishing, even more so. Ran reasonably to around 10 miles, though I could feel the power draining from around 7: seriously ran out of juice then, last 3.1 in over 35 mins with several walk breaks. If I had been a wee bit faster, I would have been happy, but it just wasn't there. Still, this is a marker: I will NEVER run a slower HM. Coursewise- I suppose the overcast day didn't do it any favours, but I found it a bit so-so. Also a lot more vehicular traffic than I expected. Pretty well organised, and the goodie bag (featuring a towel and the actual bag itself) was different.

Hibeedeb entered 45 minutes before the start, having had a sore right calf for a few days - it was fine on race morning, but my left one hurt, so I havered a bit, and then entered, planning on taking it easyish...

Runnersleep Another good run. Very steady pace from start and kept it going well. Rather cold and I probably put too much on. Great course and scenic although the hill at Scotlandwell concentrates the mind Looking forward to progressing towards that 1 hr 30 mark sometime this year.

Ultracat steady paced training run. Enjoyed my little run round the Loch. Cool and dry but a tad windy. Hillier than I remembered though
