ibecks A great race with a long uphill section to start, a moorland loop in the middle and a nice fast descent. 2009 was very much a family event with junior races held before the main event.

multiterrainer A good fast and furious trail race with all hills runnable. Nice breeze in the woods but a bit warm on the moorland paths/tracks. Based my prediction on 'rivals' times from last year so pleased to get inside 53mins though lost 4 or 5 places in last 15 mins -those with longer legs on the descents!!

swittle Ran the inaugural event last year on a beautiful day. Plenty of up but plenty of down too! Highly runnable, excellent facilities and a huge cake stall last year - hope it's the same this. 'Green' prizes too. *Already a firm favourite, in spite of runner's sunburn y'day ;) - and a minute off last year's time too! *
