maria_musttryharder! A stupidly hot morning with very little breeze. Hadn't done nearly enough prep for this, only managed 6k in training. Needless to say things went pretty well for the first 7k but then I was worn out and my cardio just couldn't keep up with my legs. For the first time ever I walked in a race - once I'd caught my breath I could continue at the original pace but felt nauseous from 7k onwards. Shame coz it was a lovely route. Splits 6.07 Warm up, 5.42, 5.47, 5.30, 6.06 Water station, 5.52, 6.01 Walked for 1 minute - v. out of breath, 7.07 Walked for 2 minutes - big hill and water station, 6.22, 5.52

wick A good course , but I found it very hot on the day. Friendly officials and marshalls. Nice to be able to have an ice cream at the end especially as I got stung on the tongue by a wasp about half way round.
