Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

_andy Didn't think I'd even start having broken my pinkie toe just three weeks earlier. That meant only a couple of short training runs the previous week, which weren't fun. And then I had a cold for the week before too. Maybe next year will happen for me!

Big Al Widepants Watch time, but something has to change. This struggling from early on and coming in around the same time as last year (after all this training) is so demoralising.

Dvorak 500 registered entrants so far. Make that 501... Update 3.9: Injured achilles, prospects uncertain... Update: exceeded expectations, very pleased (considering injury/ illness). Very, very, very wet. Felt stronger and stronger in last 4 km, running comfortably, while those I passed were struggling. Miles in the bank do pay off. Greedy for time at end, tweaked leg again in last 200m, hopefully not too bad. Frozen peas time now.

Enigma The long haul travel and lack of recent running would seem to have had it's effect today. I was pushing, but from 4K onward people were coming past me and I just couldn't keep with them.
The weathr was very wet, not good for most things but fine for running. I'm not too disapointed with the time as I know the reasons.

hannkies Not too happy with time as I'm 99% sure I'm sub 35 shape right now, but actually felt I ran fairly well today. Was told this was a fast course, and believe it probably is though don't think it was overly fast today due to the conditions which were fairly wet. Quite a few wee twists and turns and wee undulations but totally enjoyed this race and would do it again. One complaint being the start was pretty dangerous as with the u-turn it was possible to crash into runners coming the other way. Very well organised race despite that and I was 20th of 720.

IanS Not trained for two weeks since my calf went again so this wil just be a gentle warm-up for Ness in 3 weeks. Update: So much for a gentle warm-up - managed to PB by over a minute thanks to the new orthotics from my physio! Extremely wet but thankfully the wind had dropped so it wasn't too bad.

radioworx wow!

Pouring rain totally wet. But better temp than last week's strathclyde country park 10k which was 22 degrees. Strewth!
Totally ahattered by PB by 4 mins. Had tons of energy left for a big stormer of a finish too in the last 200m.

Now I know why people do this more often!

Still on a high.

Thanks to the stewards and other encouraging runners.

The Belly Is Gaun Tae Get Ye Sub 42 or bust. Target race of programme
*UPDATE* I guess tat will be BUST BIG time then. What a waste of 7 weeks training. Going backwards from 1.5K with legs and lungs not working. Suspect overtrained in the last few weeks and defo hanging with a bit of a cold. Only bad race this year but trust it to be now ! Well organised apart from the lack of space in the changing facilities. Will be back . Sorry to all you betters but if it ani't your day it ani't your day.

Thighsofsteel First race back after having had a baby - last race I did was in March 2005 (Alloa Half Marathon) (did a 5k Race For Life in June but that doesn't count!). Usual scenario: too few ladies' loos and panicky last-minute queue; rain, rain, rain; steady start and strong at the end. Did better than hoped and felt fine - good to be back!

Vic Mason Looking forward to my 3rd 10k race. I am also looking for a PB given that this is meant to be a fast flat 10k course. My training has been consistant so hopefully I'll do well. Aye - yer credits will be safe with Fannybawz! **UPDATE** Fannybawz romps home with 55 seconds off his previous 10k time. Thanx to all Fetchies who placed bets & emailed me with Good Luck messages etc.
