Spans Running this the day after the last surrey xc league match was always going to be a challenge, but as i had been selected to represent Wales, I was always going to give it my best.

My legs did feel a little tight in the first few km, so I maintained a steady pace that didn't feel too tight and soon I actually found myself working my way through the field (including the other 2 welsh girls). Overall, I was surprised at the fact that it was slightly more undulating than expected and I slightly struggled with the headwind in the first 5k as I was running on my own, but the race was flying by and soon the last 2k was upon me and that last km downhill was bliss!

Overall I was first Welsh ladies scorer home and 14th lady, which in such a quality field I am very pleased with :)

Sadly I was 7 secs off my pb, but I know that with the right preparation and the right day I will get that 36min 10k!

Thanks to Chichester for organsing a great race, one I will definitely try and do again... well there are not many races that can boast that the first 9 finishes all broke 30mins!

Em How Running Postie can say hes diapointed with his time I will never understand!! Wish I was running as quick as my PB times. Yet again I didnt enjoy to day, disapointed with time and very P'd off when certain people overtook me and beat me. I really feel like giving up.

mildmanneredjanitor Hadn't really trained for this, so not unhappy with the hour. Not being able to walk properly for a couple of weeks was a bind though. Nice course, friendly field a bit of a shame about the traffic around Goodwood but I'm definately back up for this next year.

oldbirdhead Was hoping to break 40 minutes but really struggled for first 5k with aching shins..not sure whether this was due to not being used to hills or early morning stiffness as I struggle with aching legs when running in the morning. Either way I am going to start doing some early morning training runs and also some hill work.

Considering didn't feel great for first 5k was actually quite pleased to do the last 5k in 19:40 (inc 7:24 for last 2k)
