ross52477 Just in case anyone wondered - yes this is an incredibly hard race due to the non-stop hills. Great fun though especially for all mud lovers. Ran it as a training run but still found it very tough with sore calfs for most of the run. Great if not difficult race.

Ally2 aim for top 10. tough, muddy and cold but battled through to 7th after being 10th in opening 3 miles. was 7th at top of beacon hill and after the savage broombriggs hill, got overtaken by rainsford (heanor) coming down beacon but took a man going up rough hill coming out of the golf course. 8th place nearly got me at the end as my legs felt sluggish especially through the bog near the finish. got back before the snow fell. 7th and near 7mins behind the winner who's an england triathlete.

ironman managed a PB last year, great race, hopefully the weather will be rough to make it a real challenge. got club presentation the night before so might be a slow time after a late night. managed 1:51. not as wet as other years, very cold and windy. had bad leg pains second half of run, should not have done 45 miles on bike day before
