I agree with WW, Nelly has done a great job with this thread. Thank you. Iaincr - Ill/sick people all around - they are everywhere. I was on the train with a bloke opposite leaving his lungs in the atmosphere. I literally put my face into my tissue and held my hand over my face the whole journey. I have even started using that antibacterial hand gel. I realise I may have OCD, but I hopefully won't catch a cold before Sunday! |

Separate in 2013 too, but don't expect anything more than carpark to stand on and if you want a shower you will have to hope for rain

Yes no showers, but the changing tent was fine - quite large and separate, as has been said. I'm only doing the half and half relay this year but good luck to all of you doing the full - its a brilliant race, I love it. |

Disappointed with that arrangement. Maybe I've been spoiled by Dutch and German events

I thought I’d put my degree in Leisure & Tourism (as suggested by Windsor ;-)) to good use and point out some things to look out for on the course on Sunday:- #1 – The Entertainment As last year (I can’t remember if they did the same in 2012?) the organisers are offering a £500 prize for the best supporting entertainment, which we the runners get to vote for in the post-race survey. According to the website greatermanchestermarathon.com there’s 18 confirmed “acts” so far. They’ll all be looking to beat returning champions Altrincham Children’s Choir. Just a word of caution, I know 11 (& 14miles) is a little early in the race for hallucinations, but as you run through Timperley (where I live) you’re likely to see lots of people with oversized heads. No, all the residents aren’t close family members with deformed heads, it’s the Frank Sidebottom Army. Some of you may remember Frank from “Frank Sidebottom's Fantastic Shed Show” on ITV in the early 90’s. Comedy character Mrs Merton started out as Frank's sidekick on his radio show Radio Timperley, and Chris Evans was once his driver. More tomorrow… (Final call for any race numbers for the header) |
