Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Gobi - you are putting in some massive numbers there!

Well done on 13th overall, that is a great effort! I can pull about 4Wkg for 5 minutes, I can't imagine what 5Wkg feels like...!

Thanks for the advice - noted about the first 5 minutes!

5wkg is ok for a couple of minutes( by 5 mins it hurts) but then you remember the rest of the climb and the alpe to come so you get wise :-)

Just done 3hours leisurely on the mtb , now to relax !

Well I’ve just sat in the garage for a looong time and had another go at the Alpe. I got to the 5 marker.

From about marker 8 onwards my feet were cramping something chronic wtf! (not normally a problem but I don’t normally sit there that long) HR was very low and in all other respects I could have just trundled my way to the top. We don’t have a fan and whilst I was sweating a lot I wasn’t overheating but I wonder if I need more salt.

It’s just a game but I feel disappointed!

That’s a shame. It must have felt like you were so near but so far away. I haven’t even had the nerve to think about it. Need to lose a lot of weight for it to be a realistic proposition for me.

Meanwhile my Young Lad has done it 8 times in the past 4 weeks or so. He’s up it like a rat up a drainpipe; takes him about an hour. He’s only disappointed he hasn’t won the wheels yet!!

Yes it did feel close but then the speed I was moving it was going to take more time than I wanted to sit there.

Still it makes the other KOMs on some of the other courses feel easy I might revisit some of those! 😂
