Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

AdZ is unlocked at level 6 at the moment or it was a month or so ago. Not sure if it still is.

Signed up my youngest to a free kids account. Good offering that from Zwift, no charge for a full account until they are 16yo. Means there's an extra option for lockdown exercise in the house for a rainy day!

Ah ok didn’t realise that, thanks. Based on today I might get a few more hilly course rides in before I attempt it though.

Free kid places are great. My young lad is loving it. He’s L7 already.

Eked out all of the free mileage I could, and running legs are feeling better, but I must admit I've enjoyed the week of zwifting so far. Being new to this cycling "training" lark, any guidance on what sorts of parameters would be helpful to put around cycling effort?

Whilst I might not always stick to it, the concept of HR zones works well for me for running, and of course I've got decent benchmarks to match if plans suggest intervals at 5k pace, marathon pace, 10k pace etc. So if I went out for an easy run I'd know what level of HR to pitch things at.

Are there similar factors against concepts like FTP for cycling? e.g. if I did want to do the equivalent of a 40min easy run, what sort of %age of FTP and what duration should I be looking at? I've been guilty in the past in running of doing too much at too high an intensity, even if it has only felt moderately hard (i.e. classic grey zone stuff), but I can see I'm drifting into the same mentality on zwift so any suggestions of factors would be helpful as I would like to be a (slightly) better cyclist than I am at the moment.

(Though I did enjoy Jon's Mix last night, even if the final 10min at 195W was right at the limit of my capabilities!)
