What's this 'outside' people keep mentioning?
Impressed with anyone who knocks out an Everest challenge, I'm certainly not in any kind of shape to do so.
Had a lazy week of hols in the sun and will be back on the turbo soon.

I did the Three Sisters route yesterday to finish off the MAAP challenge, whilst my average speed up it was much better than last time, I still hate hills!

Trying my first structured workout on Zwift in a min, have just been riding routes and challenges this far but as I'm now under a month away from a phased return to work, I figured it was time to try and work on some fitness. VO2 & anerobic capacity...
Wish me luck!

I have raced 2 of the 4 Maap events - they are tough, huge PBs in New York this morning on the KOM both ways
Enjoy Gooner
Simbil - I think Eversting is a bit like ultras , anyone can do it if you have time, patience and just accept it might take a while. Racing it is another world :¬)

Always enjoyed a good challenge - the mental aspect, the planning and the training it inspires, the fitness/health benefits plus the camaraderie of getting it done with other people.
Racing is ok now and again but does not inspire me in the same way. I can beat people who aren't as good as me - anyone can beat people who aren't as good as them on the day if they put the effort in and don't have a mishap. I can get a bit better with training and race against slightly better people and beat them if they are not as good as me on the day too. Fun now and again and would maybe make the life compromises required to be my absolute best if my potential would take me closer to human limits i.e. Olympic level / cat A. We're all different for sure and I'm happy for anyone who races at any level and enjoys it, just not my main focus

Thanks for that, Nat & Totri. Was a nice little ride and chat. Sorry if I missed any convo or seemed behind at time, every time I type on the phone the text box and keyboard fill the screen so I'm flying blind!
Also, never sprinting with you two again, it hurt...haha.

Was good thanks, oh the sad irony my 2nd sprint effort was slower than when I was pootling along and being dragged along by you two on the rubber band
