Al-a bit late now but next time you go for a curry have tandoori chicken(avoid teh skin if you can), lentil dal and plain rice. You don't have to eat all of it either...which is where I tend to fall down...

Tandoori (or tikka) chicken without sauce, yogurt raitha, salad, and plain rice or a chapatti would be my po-faced curry choice advice too. Not having indigestion the next morning being the main reason
(In reality, though, I'll have a spicy sauce, try to leave behind as much of the orange grease as I can without missing any of the lumps of meat and vegetables, and pilau rice is just so much nicer, and I have been known not only to clear my own dishes but to "help out" people who have over-ordered.)

Helping out others. It's so public spirited of you
I had meetings today and lunch never happened until about 1.30pm. By that time I was feeling a bit rubbish. That's the thing when you are restricting calories - if you are late with your meal you really notice it.
Big weigh in tomorrow. I think I may only have lost a pound since last week but obviously I'm much more toned and muscular overall.

Al ... c'mon, you haven't checked in yet
Now that I've got my weight down again, I start eating furniture if I'm late for a meal. Haven't had any serious post-ultra munchies from Saturday, though. I attribute this to the effects of the good solid LDWA food I had afterwards

Dropped another 1.5 kilo's after Man v. Horse... now weighing in at just over 60 kgs... and not doing anything (other than running silly races :-)) to achieve this... only upped the mileage a bit...
Is there such a thing as ones natural running weight? Gobi? I remember you saying last year I'd loose weight if I trained consistently, even without trying???

People say that Hann, but I'm not sure it's true. My weight has stayed very constant at around 70kg despite doing 60 mile weeks all year I'm only a 5'7 ish so BMI is close to the overweight category.
I thought I'd be down to 65 kg easy by now and nothing is happening, the scales just laugh at me.
There's little doubt that up to a point lighter is better for distance running. Go beyond that point and you're in a world of pain, or at least significantly increased risk of illness and injury.

Hanneke- I read somewhere that weight drops in women running over 30 mpw (presumably that's the level at which you have to make a conscious effort to replace the lost calories, and if you don't you lose weight).

Ahhh, that is useful info guys... I run about 40-45 miles a week at the moment, but all on the fells, so more time on my feet and lots of ascending... I eat a lot, but not necessarily a lot more than I did before I slowly built up the mileage from 20-ish to 40ish miles a week...
