Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

For those of you familiar with Hull pot, near Pen-y-Ghent, which is normally a deep drop into a pit.

After the recent heavy rain, it's filled up..!

I showed Liebling that video and DT's comment and she said 'why not swim in that?' :-o

I said 'In January? And be sucked down an underwater pot hole?'

The Hull Pot videos and pictures are amazing! (And a lot of the Yorkshire Dales waterfall ones circulating at the moment).

It was mayhem around here yesterday, what was it like in YOUR corner of Yorkshire? Lots of car damage around Harrogate and the villages, I saw this yesterday on my way back from swim training:

BTW fellow Yorkshire-dwellers, I am moving! After years of house and soul-searching, we have found another suitable Exile gaff, well away from the madding crowd and in a location where I can't do much harm. It's perilously close to the Lancashire border though and I confess to a degree of unease about this :-( Anyone else in this situation? I'm thinking barbed wire coils, sandbags and a machine gun emplacement. Advice welcome.

Just make sure you’re over the border back in God’s Own before dark is my advice. They still have highwaymen in the Wild West

Looking forward to hearing more about it later

We had a few chairs blown over, but nothing too serious, and having planned to spend a day out doing indoor stuff, ended up doing some walking in Dentdale and a second walk by the Ribblehead viaduct. We did pick up a German lady hitchhiking on the way back to Hawes - she'd walked 30 miles, going over Pen-y-ghent in pretty severe winds and clearly wasn't going to get to her bunkhouse before dark.

I’m in Harrogate. Back fence and gate are down, when I didn’t even know they were at risk. Side fence, which was more likely to go, is still standing but not sure for how long.

Have contacted four fencers so far with only one response.
