I didn't sign up to run with a pacer last year, there was no problem at all. Very friendly and welcoming

I think I’ve just entered the ballot for Tokyo ‘24. Looks to be open until 25th August. Was quite surprised not to have to provide payment details up front.

I very nearly entered the ballot for Tokyo but then looked at the dates. We are skiing in Whistler the following week, it would be just my luck to get in and you can't defer. So have decided to be sensible.

Good luck WW and DeeGee. I got a place via the charity route as I wanted to be assured of a place, and having never been to Japan, we are planning to travel around a bit afterwards. I’ve firm plans to complete the 6 now, so I’ve got my fingers crossed it works out!

Can I ask which charity and what bid? Fmail if you'd rather not share publicly. Seriously considering the charity route next year - couldn't justify it this year with NYC currently absorbing all my available funds.

3 majors coming up in quick succession so I hope anyone is in them is doing well. Some current news seems to be around the BQ and the related record number of qualifiers that submitted a time (33000+). Seems likely there will be a cut off for next year’s event. Also, Sydney went ahead on the weekend. I’ve read mixed reviews from it, the negative ones mainly centred around people struggling in the heat and also the fact there are a few out and backs on the course. Still seems to be the current favourite to become the 7th major though. I’m doing Chicago. Training isn’t going well at all, but I’m hoping to get around it at least, and I’m looking forward to the trip, including a planned coach out to the new parkrun. |
