Trying to decide now whether to go for a Tokyo charity place. I think I'm probably stretching available time and budget with two majors in an academic year. I'll take my hopeless chances with the ballot, I think...

DeeGee, I suspect I’m going to go for a charity option for Tokyo. Need to think about it over coming days and twist OH’s arm, although I don’t think she’ll need much convincing. Not sure how much to bid though - last year a lot got in on minimum amount but there were still travel restrictions at that time so possibly less demand last year? I don’t know.

Well, I’ve applied for a charity for Tokyo so we’ll see how I get on!

I really can't justify a charity bid this year. New York is swallowing my entire budget. I'll do a ballot later and presume I won't get in as usual.

I don’t suppose that there’s a Chicago thread so forgive me for asking here.

I checked my starting corral and I’m in B. Does that sound about right? hoping to run around 3 hours.

I think I read somewhere that there are no pacers at Chicago. Not that I’ve ever run with a pacer before but I was thinking about it this time. Can anyone confirm the absence of pacers?

Thanks!

I’m Corral B too. Here are the corrals, and it’s sub-2:55 for Corral A. I believe you need evidence to move into Wave 1, so presumably also need evidence to move up to Corral A within Wave 1, but don’t know for sure.

I can’t answer about pacers I’m afraid.

I’m pretty sure I was in corral B last year for predicted 3 hour pace (just under as it turned out 😀). I definitely passed a 3 hour pace group somewhere around mile 20.

thanks both, I went back to what I predicted and I'd said 2:50 -> 2:55 so it seems strange that they'd put me in B. Perhaps they knew better than me that I'd never be in that kind of shape, LOL!!
