Stanley has taken to sleeping on our bed with us, but usually jumps off after about an hour and sleeps in his bed on the floor. There was a thud in the night which didn't sound like his usual jump - I think he rolled over and fell off the bed. He came round to me for cuddles and to get back on the bed and then slept the rest of the night next to us.
This morning he has mostly been doing this

He's absolutely fine, thanks. Full of beans now he's had a snooze in the sun.

It still haunts me when Hiske, our old dog, came up the stairs in the early hours of the morning, when she usually slept downstairs. We heard her kind of bouncing off the walls and she came into our bedroom really disoriented, struggling to stand up. Although old, she’d been fine that day. OH briefly tried her on some tablets, but OH put Hiske to sleep at home. It was horrendous, with OH and I crying immediately afterwards, but I do know it was best for Hiske.

That is sad, Big_G. Lovely that she came to find you though.

Not quite the normal post, but for the last two years Son2 has worked at doggy day care centres. First at one which took about 60 dogs, but he eventually found out was only licenced for 40, and then at one which looked to be better run, but he then discovered used a dominance approach to training/handling the dogs rather than positive reinforcement. He's really become disillusioned with the sector - for him it's just crowd control, and the proprietors just seem to see it as a cash generator.
He wants to work with dogs and make a difference for them. Yesterday he had an interview at the Dog's Trust, and today he's been offered a job there. He is (and we are) delighted :)

Totally understand the all round delight. :-) dog

Doggy day care and training for that matter have such wide variety. That out dated dominance, pack order thing is still pretty common unfortunately.

But hurrah for Son2!
